High School Aspirations Become a Reality: Introducing ‘Indulge’, The Magazine!
It’s official, Indulge is now live, and you can experience the world of fashion through our bi-monthly or bi-annual subscription magazine. For those truly dedicated to the finest in global fashion, I’d recommend the bi-annual subscription after all, we have so much to share from the perspective of an international personal shopper.
But before we dive into the glamour of today, let’s take a step back. Picture this: Year 10. A time when English and history were my favourite subjects, and when I dared to dream beyond the confines of the classroom. High school was a chapter filled with empowerment, where we believed we would be the change the world was waiting for. That was me, Sahar, a teenager with aspirations as vivid as the future I envisioned.
I was the friend who journaled endlessly about my dreams, who lifted others with visions of conquering the corporate world, and who took pride in standing out from the crowd. With a can of hairspray in my bag for lunchtime touch-ups, and my father’s oversized jumper draped over my shoulders, I was never afraid to be different. So, when we were given an English assignment to create a magazine, I chose fashion without hesitation. It was the perfect outlet to express my passion, and I named it Dare to Be Seen. At just 15, I was already dreaming in colour—specifically, red, a shade that has remained my signature to this day.
I poured my heart and soul into that project, eager to show my classmates and teacher that fashion was not just about style—it was a way of life. My inspiration? The classic novels of the 18th century, where the detailed descriptions of draped silks, delicate lace, and layered perfection transported me to a time when elegance was paramount. Fashion, for me, was never just about the clothes; it was about storytelling—each piece, each fabric, a chapter in the book of self-expression. Over the years I have contributed to fashion magazines and blogs, but always longed to helm my own.
Indulge is a culmination of that lifelong passion. What began as a school project has now evolved into something far greater: a sophisticated, curated publication designed to inspire and empower. Through the lens of my experiences as a global personal shopper, this magazine offers a unique perspective on fashion that is both timeless and current.
Perhaps, one day, I’ll publish a journal series on my high school adventures—“The Journals of a Girl Who Knew What She Wanted, but Life Had a Different Path in Mind.” There’s a nice ring to that, don’t you think?
