How I Am Who I Am And How I Came To Be
This is who I am and how I came to be!
As my newest little venture of ‘INDULGE IN LUXURY’; this very first blog post, it – well it introduces me! For hours on end, I underwent all forms of things overwhelming in creating this content!
Oh right, let me start by saying: Hello, I’m Sahar and I’m a perfectionist!
Did that sound like it came straight out of a movie; or was it just me?
Okay, back to the purpose of this post! I knew that I wanted this to be (in every form) all that represents me. So, in having said that – I thought what better way to connect with my readers and all my clients; then allowing them to questioningly interview me! So, I took it to social media; and indulged them to indulge me; and in one unrestricted story I asked: “Ask me anything!” Hence, heartwarmingly heartfelt curiosity is what curated the contained content of this post!
In the spirit of full exposure: the process of producing this post has made it to be my most, digitally speaking, prized possession!
Who am I? Needless to say I’m a woman who a few years back; would have never imagined sitting in front of her laptop screen typing up a little autobiography for her OWN WEBSITE!! Thinking it, typing it or even saying those few words still until today feels so so surreal. Sitting with my computer just in front of me writing this, I keep going back and forth – window to window; thinking really someone just pinch me; this can’t be real; am I really clicking on my browser and accessing my own website!
Fast forward a few years; and just in quick flashbacks thinking; it was an interest, that soon became a hobby; which in hand resonated as a passion – which I pursued as a career; and that career, my pursued passion is ultimately this.. So welcome my fellow indulgers; welcome to my world, my dreams come true – welcome to the heart that holds Indulge in Luxury.
If this post can be anything more than a little reveal; I hope it helps you find the inspiration – the extra push that not one bit of this worlds chaos can ever get between a woman, her imagination, her calling and turning her dream into a reality! Her calling – my calling; how did I find it, what is it, why did I chose it? Well to answer things backwards, I don’t think I chose this calling; for I often believe that it chose me. I had the ability to lose track of time rummaging through the crisp papers of magazines; imagining all the pieces as if they were right there - placed right in front of me. I used to head to those boutiques by morning and what was initially a quick trip would turn into me heading back home in the earlier hours of the evening. Anytime I found myself in my comfort zone in my most pleased state; it really almost always had something to do with my indulgences into the world of fashion luxury. And so, I did it – I took that interest, I read, I asked, I learnt, I grew and I knew. I knew that this was exactly what I had to do; not because there weren’t any personal shoppers – but because I felt like I could be the personal shopper who could break barriers; destroy stereotypes, and really listen to and encourage her audience to be comfortable, to shop with ease; to shop in ways that would set them free.
I owed it to myself to exist and to cater to something that was so much bigger than me; scary – definitely, but my oh my how; how that initial fear was so well worth it.. With four different platforms catering to all different kinds of people each with their distinctive taste, with buyers located throughout the globe, with my ability to source the rarest while thriving through beautiful relationships I’ve established with my clients; it isn’t until now that I’ve actually taken it in and realised that this is it – I’m doing it, I did it! I’ve made a name for myself; I’ve created a presence; I’ve turned myself into a woman who gets contacted through referrals saying “if anyone can find it for me, it’s you!” I hang up thinking, um; who me? And then I realise, YES!!! If anyone can find it, if anyone can do it – they’re right it is me! And you know why? Because I live for the challenge, I flourish in the chaos, and I find the thrill in the hunt.
My platforms; from my own ready to wear line that empowers the every woman in knowing she can be whomever she choses to be, my contribution into creating a more sustainable world and giving a hand, giving a chance for people to buy affordable luxury, my exclusive access to the rarest and most exquisite elements of the finest timepieces and iconic pieces from Hermès – to finally a renowned voice that’s heard and resonates throughout the world of luxury. The creation of my accounts; the persistence of my passion; they’re all driven by me; the any woman who knows what sets her apart in a world where everything looks the same – who believes that her style is what speaks volumes.
Which brings me to answer a question I always get asked; “Why have we never seen you? Why don’t you ever show your face?” In full disclosure; in the very beginning it wasn’t something intentional at all – I just never deemed it as necessary for me to show while showcasing my sourcing abilities. And with time, the more exposure I was blessed with I believe that I felt the need to keep a boundary between who I am at work and who I am for me.. After the year we’ve all had, the exponential growth we succumbed to resiliently I’ve come to notice that who I am at work and who I am for me; they’re both one person: for I am my work – and you will soon see me. Launching my website; growing my ever glowing global team, presenting my presence - I owe it to me now to indulge my reality and to introduce you and me to the face behind “Indulge in Luxury”.
To keep this simple, with the coming days you’re going to learn so much more about me. With my dreams taking their place in full effect; you’ll soon enough believe that for me it’s always been about the details. When I talk about the details; I mean in every single thing – from what I source, to how I source; how I think, to what I believe; from what I imagine and how it becomes so real! You will see my infinite passion for fashion and how that really is the universal code in which we all know how to speak.
